Water sports facilities and scuba diving centres are available at many beaches of Corfu, and the windy shores of Issos and Halikounas are ideal for wind and kite-surfing. Hiking or cycling to the Castle of Kassiopi and the secluded Pipitos Beach or through the verdant hills surrounding Kassiopi are amongst the most popular pastimes, along with horse-riding, and golfing and tennis. Boat hires and sailing cruises are also available and are the best way to see the best part of Corfu: the many inlets and beaches of the north and northeastern coastline, often found empty and inviting.
